This five day instructor led course teaches learners how to install and/or upgrade various pieces of software from various locations and sources. Learners will also consider the importance of recording information associated with software installation and the importance of following organisational guidelines.
Learners will be assessed on their progress by completing an evidence portfolio towards a level 3 unit qualification from City and Guilds. Successful candidates will prove their competence in the following two areas:-
The aim of this two day instructor lead course is to introduce learners to the fundamental aspects of managing user accounts. Learners will develop the ability to create and modify user accounts, configuring essential authentication security such as passwords, force password changes, maintain a password history. Learners will also consider the different types of users eg. Guests, Administrators/Root & Service Users.
Course delegates will work towards a level 3 unit qualification from City and Guilds. Assessment is via a portfolio that demonstrates competence in the following two learning outcomes:-
On this five day course delegates will learn about some of the fundamental aspects surrounding the security of ICT systems. By the end of the programme learners will be able to identify common types of security breaches and be able to describe the methods for protecting data and systems. Learners will be able to apply aspects of their training practically to harden systems against attack.
Over the programme of study learners will develop a portfolio towards a level 3 unit qualification from City and Guilds. This portfolio will demonstrate the learnerís competence with regard to the following learning outcomes:-
