Overview
The Network Engineer Level 4 programme is a practical apprenticeship that helps learners build real-world networking skills while earning a recognised qualification. You’ll learn how to design, manage, and secure modern networks through a mix of virtual classroom training and hands-on experience in the workplace. With expert support throughout, you’ll gain the confidence and skills needed to progress into a career in network engineering or related roles.

Course Overview
Apprenticeship Standard: Level 4 Network Engineer
What will you be doing: Over 15 months, apprentices learn how to design, configure, and maintain business networks, monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, and apply security controls to keep systems connected, secure, and running smoothly.

Modules
Learn how business networks operate, covering ports, protocols, routing and switching, network models (OSI & TCP/IP), and how policies and resilience impact real-world environments.
Develop practical skills in wired and wireless networks, cloud connectivity, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting live network infrastructure.
Build the knowledge needed to secure modern networks, including threat management, compliance, secure services, and network automation.
Gain access to industry-recognised qualifications through Cisco Network Academy and use Cisco Packet Tracer to design, test, and configure networks in a safe, simulated environment.
