“Applicant” means the person applying for a training place.
“JBC” means JBC Skills Training Limited.
Training places, for starts after the 1st August 2019, will only be availble to Applicants living in the West Midlands Combined Authority's area. If in doubt Applicants should contact JBC to confirm their postcode is eligible
A training place consists of full-time training delivered Mondays to Fridays, between 8.30am and 4.30pm, at JBC’s Training Centres in either Coventry or Birmingham.
Applicants must attend a selection and assessment interview before any offer of a training place shall be made. At the interview the Applicant’s ability and suitability to complete the programme will be assessed. There is no fee for attending a selection and assessment interview. Any visits to attend an interview must be agreed and booked in advance with JBC.
Any offer of a training place will be made in writing by JBC to the Applicant.
Applicants can start training on the next available training programme after receiving an offer of a place in writing. A list of available start dates will be provided to the Applicant with their offer of a training place. All places on training programmes must be booked and agreed in advance with JBC.
During the training course Applicants shall complete work towards one or more IT qualifications. Successful completion of the training programme and of any assessments will be required before any qualification is awarded to the Applicant. No fee is required from the Applicant to be entered for a qualification nor to sit any assessment nor to receive a qualification that has been agreed as part of their programme.
All materials required to complete the training programme, such as books or computer equipment, will be provided by JBC at no charge to the Applicant. Property loaned to the Applicant for use on the training programme remains the property of JBC and shall be returned to JBC at the end of the training programme or immediately on request.
The Applicant shall be required to commit to being available to attend full-time training at JBC’s Training Centre for the appropriate period, prior to accepting an offer of a training place.
The Applicant shall be required to present themselves on time at JBC’s Training Centre for each session of the training programme.
The Applicant shall be required to dress in appropriate attire at all times when attending the training course. JBC will discuss this with Applicants at the assessment interview.
JBC reserves the right to withdraw any offer of a training place or terminate any current training programme at any time.
